Give us a little itinerary вЂ“ say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc. LetвЂ™s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. CallieвЂ™s Hot Little Biscuit is keeping the tradition of Southern biscuit making alive, baking hot little biscuits that bring people around the table. When there are no problems, there is no growth, so you want those problems. We overcome challenges on the daily, by problem solving and then moving on to the nextвЂ“ one puzzle at a time. The excitement of what is to come keeps me going and wanting more. The daily challenge of running and growing this business is what gets me excited and out of the bed in the morning. What sets us apart is that we are handmade, and the proof is in the biscuit! Nothing is easy when starting a business, and after 15 years, it only gets harder. ItвЂ™s a goal of mine, so itвЂ™s my priority.Д¬an you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?Д¬allieвЂ™s Hot Little Biscuit is a handmade biscuit company, making Southern biscuits and more for our customers, and serving biscuits and Southern staples through our online store, grab and go eateries, and grocery stores all across the country. If I canвЂ™t pick up my daughters from school every day this week, IвЂ™ll pick them up three days this week and 5 days next week. The key to achieving balance is always keeping it in the forefront of your mind and on your running to do list so it is never lost. The balance is still there, but itвЂ™s not the same each day. Once the business started to grow, there have been times where balance hasnвЂ™t come in the day-to-day, but instead it comes week-to-week вЂ“ IвЂ™ll have to work a little more one day in order to be home with family the next day. For the first decade of this journey, the balance was very defined and easy to achieve. When I started CallieвЂ™s Biscuits in 2005, my goal was to be able to create a food business that allowed me the freedom to raise our daughters AND have a career of my own. Hi Carrie, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?ДЇor me, work/life balance definitely changes over time.
